I plan to go ahead to reading the book version of City of Embers. After watching the movie version, I made up my mind already that the book is probably bazonkas.
The movie was pretty amazing. Basically, you have to pretend to be 9 years old again, unless you are already in that 7 - 11 range ( count yourself lucky ). The movie plays it very safe. No real bad surprises. Actually, that felt refreshing. Most fantasy movies have such convoluted plots around evil bad demon alpha type male that magically show up in the middle of no where stories. I hate those.
